The Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Each year, more than 26,400 ninth through 12th grade students from across the country enter to win their share of more than $1.4 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program. The Voice of Democracy is open to students in grades 9-12 who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States; or dependents of U.S. military or civilian personnel in overseas schools. Although U.S. citizenship is not required, studentsmust be lawful U.S. permanent residents or have applied for permanent residence . The national first place winner receives a $35,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school.

The Creative BioMart selection committee will review each application fairly and carefully according to the following criteria: - Academic Ability: In addition to grade point average, your project, Bachelor's/Master’s thesis, internship experience, or detailed learning plan will be considered. - Leadership Skills: The ability to organize and positively influence others inside and outside of school. - Social Concerns: Purposeful and meaningful participation in volunteer activities, community service or other public service activities.

Recognizes a junior or senior undergraduate, or graduate student member who has excelled and demonstrated leadership on the local, national and /or international levels as shown by their activities and offices held at each level. The candidate who receives this award should also have expressed their desire to be actively involved in ASABE. One award shall be made each year and will alternate between an undergraduate junior or senior student in odd-numbered years and a graduate student in even-numbered years. However, both categories of student nominations will be accepted each year and if there should be no qualified student in that year's intended category, the other student category of applicants will be considered for the award.

Previous recipients of any SICB award (GIAR or FGST) are not eligible. Awards are limited to graduate students currently enrolled in degree programs who are active members of SICB. Non-members must become members for the current grant year to be eligible to receive awards. Please also be sure to affiliate with one of SICB’s divisions as you will be asked to report your division affiliation on the grant application. If two or more applicants are working on part of a larger project but are applying separately for support, each one should identify the other applicant(s) of the project. Unless indicated to the contrary, the SSC will assume that failure to provide support for one applicant does not affect the ability of the other applicants to pursue their research.

Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. Each year, nearly 26,000 high school students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme is, “How Are You Showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country?”

Waggle is a pet-focused crowdfunding platform that helps pet guardians raise funds to cover essential veterinary treatment for pets in their care. We believe no pet should be deprived of care because their guardian lacks money. That said, we understand many pet parents are financially strained, especially those enrolled in full-time education. We created the Waggle Human-Pet Bond Scholarship to help lower the financial strain on college and university students so they have more money available to care for the four-legged friends that emotionally support them in their school endeavors.

Friends of Zayne Adams -aka- FOZA, Inc. is committed to supporting children who are left behind. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has lost a mother due to a maternal suicide related to postpartum depression. Suicide related to maternal mental illness typically occurs during late pregnacy and up to a year after child birth. FOZA is seeking to award Black, Latinx, and Indigenous students in the United States who are attending an accredited four-year institution, two-year community college or trade school. All majors are welcome! Award funds will be disbursed during the indicated academic year.

The Peter Kong-ming New Student Research Competition, held annually by the Society for Applied Anthropology, celebrates outstanding student research in the applied social and behavioral sciences. This prestigious award honors Peter Kong-ming New, a distinguished medical sociologist-anthropologist and former SfAA president, whose work focused on applying the social sciences to address critical issues in health care and human services. - Open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled during the calendar year prior to the award presentation. - Doctorate holders are ineligible. - Submissions must be single-authored and based on original, unpublished field research in the social sciences. - First and second-place winners are not eligible for future competitions.

The Lillian Moller Gilbreth Memorial Scholarship was established by the Society’s Board of Trustees in 1958. It honors a woman often called the “First Lady of Engineering.” She inspired many young ladies in engineering with delightful stories, charm, fortitude and forward thinking Dr. Gilbreth, an honorary SWE member, was familiar to the public as the wife and mother in the books and movies Cheaper by the Dozen (she was the mother of 12 children) and Belles on Their Toes. She married Frank Bunker Gilbreth in 1904 and collaborated with him as pioneers in the field of time and motion studies. Lillian Gilbreth combined the perspectives of an engineer, a psychologist, a wife, and a mother; she helped industrial engineers see the importance of the psychological dimensions of work. She became the first American engineer ever to create a synthesis of psychology and scientific management.

Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements: - An ATP (or ICAO equivalent) license - A minimum of 2500 hours total flight time - A minimum of 500 multi-engine turbine flight time included in the total time, and A current first class medical certificate In pursuit of a career as an airline pilot

Female students, 18 years of age or older, who are residents of the USA with Commonwealth of Nations ancestry. Applicants must be a student at an accredited two or four-year college or university. Applicants must have a college 3.0 GPA or better (students in the second semester of the Freshman year are eligible to apply.) Applicants cannot be a State, Chapter, or Member-at-Large member of DBE. Students must have completed one semester of college to submit grades to committee.

An applicant for the Churchill Scholarship must be a citizen of the United States, either native-born or naturalized, and must be enrolled in one of the Participating Institutions and due to graduate during the same academic year as the deadline or be a student who has graduated from one of those institutions within the past 12 months before the deadline. Upon taking up the Churchill Scholarship, a Churchill Scholar must hold a bachelor’s degree. Outstanding academic achievement. There is no minimum GPA, though most applicants have a very high average. The Committee looks at achievement in STEM courses, especially in the major, as indicated by course grades and recommendation letters. Proven talent in research. Applicants in the sciences and engineering will demonstrate extensive laboratory experience, internships, or other related work, while applicants in mathematics will show substantial independent work or other projects. The Committee looks for originality and creativity. Outstanding personal qualities. Understanding the time commitment required by research, the Churchill Foundation does not seek so-called “well-rounded applicants”; instead, it seeks applicants with what we call interesting “jagged edges.” The Committee takes into account interests and achievements outside of research, but it does not favor any particular kind of activity.

As part of its commitment, Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation wants to engage and reward students who have made a significant impact against hunger and are driving awareness and mobilizing youth to be catalysts for innovative models and solutions to eliminate childhood hunger. The Foundation is looking for students, ages 5 to 25, who are using their creativity, academic studies (like STEM), and organizational skills to help fight hunger in their communities. The Foundation would like to learn about the communities scholars serve and how they engage others in these efforts. National Scholarship winners receive a $10,000 scholarship and a $5,000 grant for their hunger-related charity.

The UCT Charities Scholarship Program, funded by UCT Charities, provides scholarships to students and teachers seeking college degrees or certification to work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Five ACES scholarships are awarded to students who excel in critical thinking about written materials in any field and aspire to a career involving editing. Four of these winners each receive $1,500, and the student chosen as the Aubespin Scholar receives $2,500. We’re looking for critical thinkers who have a passion for words and enjoy making writing clear, accurate, and engaging. The Walsh Scholarship goes to an applicant who aspires to edit news and who demonstrates the talent and passion for language and journalism that Bill Walsh devoted his career to. Applicants for the other five ACES Scholarships should have a commitment to the editing of written materials and demonstrate effectiveness in doing so. A student may simultaneously seek both the Walsh Scholarship and one of the other five scholarships, but may win only one.

AAUW American Fellowships support women scholars who are pursuing full-time study to complete dissertations, conducting postdoctoral research full time, or preparing research for publication for eight consecutive weeks. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Candidates are evaluated based on scholarly excellence; quality and originality of project design; and active commitment to helping women and girls through service in their communities, professions, or fields of research.

The Charles Cheesman Student Debt Reduction Scholarship seeks to reduce student loan costs for African American or Hispanic/Latino first generation students, who are currently in college or have graduated with student loans. Workers who are no longer students but are still working to pay off student loans are eligible. To apply, write a 400-600 word essay about your educational pursuits, life goals, community service, accomplishments, etc. Explain what you will do with the money you save because of this scholarship.

Each year NPVA offers merit-based scholarships for students who are committed to volunteering and making a difference in their communities. Applicants must be a high school junior or senior, undergraduate student, or graduate student; must have at least a 2.5 GPA, and must currently enrolled or plan to be enrolled part-time or full-time in an accredited U.S. college or university. Vocational/technical, two-year, four-year, or graduate institutions are eligible.

Restricted to pre-doctoral candidates in the history of art and related disciplines (such as archaeology, architecture, or classics). Nominees must be U.S. citizens or individuals matriculated at an American university. Dissertation research must focus on European art from antiquity to the early 19th century and applicants must be ABD by the time their fellowship begins. Candidates must be nominated by their academic department. Each nomination should be formally confirmed in a letter of recommendation from the department chair. Please note: Each university is limited to two (2) nominees per academic department. The nominees must be applying for different research centers. Nominations are confirmed as part of the Department Chair’s recommendation letter. All recommendation letters, including the Department Chair’s nomination, are securely submitted via a link that is emailed to recommenders once they are listed by the student on the fellowship application form in the grantee portal.

The AvaCare Medical Scholarship recognizes those who are working to better the lives of our customers, students who are pursuing a degree in the medical field, with a prize of $1000 toward college tuition. Applicants for the AvaCare Scholarship must meet the following criteria: - Citizen of the United States or Green Card holder - High school senior or enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university - Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 - Pursuing a degree in the medical field such as therapy, nursing, medicine, nutrition, laboratory science, dentistry, health law, etc. Although all students with the above criteria are welcome to apply for this scholarship, preference will be given to students with a physical disability.

A woman is eligible for consideration for an International Peace Scholarship if she: - is a woman outside the United States and Canada who is seeking an advanced degree from an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Canada; - will return to her home country to utilize her education to make a positive impact and foster global peace; and has a full year of formal coursework remaining and is enrolled and in residence in the U.S. or Canada for the entire school year; or is an international student attending Cottey College

Scholarsip is open to students who are in pursuit of better education and currently/about to be enrolled in any apiology program, major in agriculture & environmental sciences, and other related studies. Applicants must be 18 years or older; must be a legal resident of the United States or hold a valid student visa; must be currently enrolled in or accepted to a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an accredited U.S. college or university, and must be a student/enrollee of any of the following: entomology program, major in agriculture & environmental sciences, or other related studies. HW Part Store Scholarship gives a one-time grant of $1,000 to one deserving student to help pay for books, tuition, or other educational expenses so they can be a step closer to achieving their goals. Applicants must be 18 years or older; must be a permanent legal U.S. resident or a holder of a valid student visa, and must be enrolled or planning to enroll in agricultural sciences at accredited colleges or universities in the United States.

Washington College Grant (WA Grant) gives eligible people more money for more types of education like certificate programs, job training, apprenticeships, or college. To apply, complete a state or federal financial aid application. WA Grant is available to the following people: -Washington residents (including undocumented people) -Recent high school graduates or working-age adults -Low- to middle-income families and individuals -People who plan to attend an approved certificate program, job training, apprenticeship, or college, part-time or full-time Applicants must have a high school diploma, GED, or the equivalent, and must have not already earned a bachelor’s degree or higher. The Alex & Suzanne Rosenkrantz Fund assists youth who are blind, deaf or deaf-blind in reaching their highest potential through higher education, vocational training, other appropriate schooling and adaptive technology and devices. The fund is administered by the Rotary Club of Aberdeen, Washington. Priority is given to Grays Harbor residents; lower Puget Sound areas; and Washington State. Priority is given to Grays Harbor residents; then residents of Pacific, Thurston and Mason Counties; then residents of other counties in Washington State. Applications are accepted year round.

The SOULE Foundation is designed to create an experience geared to support, develop and promote the educational advancement of LGBTQ youth and young people of color. This scholarship has a rolling deadline, meaning you can apply at anytime. However, the earlier you apply, the better. The SOULE Foundation provides annual scholarships for up to $5,000 to eligible youth and young adults in pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree. The $1,000 College JumpStart Love of Learning Scholarship offers you time to share an idea or subject that you are passionate about. College provides the opportunity to pursue your interests both inside and outside of the classroom. We’d like to hear about what idea or subject sparks you and why. The purpose of this scholarship is to help you understand the negative effects of too much screen time.

Spencer awards Undergraduate, Graduate, Ph.D., and Pre-Instructor of Practice scholarships to students enrolled at an accredited college or university in the United States and Canada and physically studying in either location (no remote coursework eligibility from other locations), including part-time Graduate scholarships to Risk Management & Insurance professionals continuing their education. Applicants must seek a career in Risk Management, Insurance, and/or Actuarial Science.

The Altmans support numerous efforts to improve education and research for the industry. Altman Plants supplies plant programs to large retailers with point of purchase materials, sales reps to assist with merchandising, a large distribution system that covers the U.S., and offers expertise in growing plants. Each year one student will be awarded this scholarship. It is an annual scholarship, although the same person may receive it a second year should their application score the highest.

This scholarship honors the late Paul Ecke, Jr. of Encinitas, Calif., who made indispensable contributions to the advancement of the global floriculture industry. Among his many interests was concern for the future of floriculture, as influenced by innovative research and educational programs. He recognized that creative scientists and educators are required to lead the floral industry in the 21st century and beyond. Each year, one student will receive $5,000 for two consecutive years, providing that they continue to meet requirements for this duration and submit an annual update.

The Geiger Scholarship offers financial support for students interested in expanding their educational horizons through off-island enrichment and travel experiences, including summer camp, semester study abroad, and gap year programs. The application portal opens September 1st, 2025, and closes March 1st, 2026. Students are eligible for up to 4 Geiger Scholarships: once in grades 6-8, once in grades 9-12, once in college and once for a gap year. Must meet one or more of the following requirements: - Middle school through college students living on one of Maine’s year-round, unbridged islands - Currently enrolled in or graduated from the highest grade level available at your island school - Magnet student with a demonstrated commitment to their island school and enrolled in at least their second year or have plans to return for a second year.

The Colegrave Seabrook Foundation International Scholarship operates in cooperation with the David Colegrave Foundation in London, England. Each year there will be an exchange of students between the U.S. and Europe, alternating between the two countries. Scholarship awards of $4,500 will be made. U.S. students should apply for this scholarship in even-numbered years (2022, 2024, etc.)

1st Financial Bank USA (1FBUSA) wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship. United States residents 18 or older who are planning to enroll or currently enrolled in a college degree program are eligible to apply.
