Scholarship Description
The Geiger Scholarship offers financial support for students interested in expanding their educational horizons through off-island enrichment and travel experiences, including summer camp, semester study abroad, and gap year programs.
The application portal opens September 1st, 2025, and closes March 1st, 2026.
Students are eligible for up to 4 Geiger Scholarships: once in grades 6-8, once in grades 9-12, once in college and once for a gap year.
Must meet one or more of the following requirements:
- Middle school through college students living on one of Maine’s year-round, unbridged islands
- Currently enrolled in or graduated from the highest grade level available at your island school
- Magnet student with a demonstrated commitment to their island school and enrolled in at least their second year or have plans to return for a second year.
