Scholarship Description
The Four Chaplains Memorial Foundation exists to further the cause of “Selfless Service” and “Unity without Uniformity” by encouraging goodwill and cooperation among all people. Since 1950, the foundation has sponsored the National Student Scholarship Essay competition for students in grades 5th–12th.
The essay is designed to challenge young people to understand the values of interfaith cooperation and selfless service modeled by the Four Chaplains and Charles W. David Jr. The contest provides a forum for young people to express their views on the benefits of working together in a diverse world. Awards may vary based on the applicant's placement in the essay contest.
