We’re looking for critical thinkers who have a passion for words and enjoy making writing clear, accurate, and engaging.

The Walsh Scholarship goes to an applicant who aspires to edit news and who demonstrates the talent and passion for language and journalism that Bill Walsh devoted his career to.

Applicants for the other five ACES Scholarships should have a commitment to the editing of written materials and demonstrate effectiveness in doing so.

The UNIMA-USA scholarship program is intended to help cover tuition fees for American puppeteers who wish to study puppetry outside the U.S. Applicants should be puppeteers who have some professional experience, who have a university degree in puppetry, or who can otherwise demonstrate a serious commitment to the art form.

Over the past several years, UNIMA has also given scholarships for study in an ever-widening number of places, including the Institut Internationale de la Marionnette in Charleville-Mezieres, France; the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England; the International Summer Academy in Stuttgart, Germany; and Puppets in Prague. The working knowledge of another language might be necessary to fully participate in some programs.

Candidates may use their scholarship at any time of the year, depending on when the courses are being offered. Puppetry training may be undertaken with either a recognized puppetry professional or a professional program outside the U.S. In some cases, an international puppet festival may be considered as a professional program.

SOULE Foundation Scholarship

The SOULE Foundation is designed to create an experience geared to support, develop and promote the educational advancement of LGBTQ youth and young people of color. This scholarship has a rolling deadline, meaning you can apply at anytime. However, the earlier you apply, the better. The SOULE Foundation provides annual scholarships for up to $5,000 to eligible youth and young adults in pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree. LGBTQ youth and young adults of color are eligible to be considered for a SOULE Foundation scholarship if they meet the following criteria: - Have attained a cumulative high school or college GPA of at least 2.5 - Have a high school diploma or GED - Are enrolled at a U.S. located, accredited college or university as a full-time student.
