Tam and Betsy Vannoy Memorial Scholarship

Betsy, a homemaker, raised four children with Tam. When the youngest headed to college, Betsy fulfilled her dream of opening an independent used bookstore in order to share her love of literature and reading with others. One location expanded to two, and Betsy ran these popular bookstores for over 25 years. Betsy cherished her relationships with her employees, customers, and the charitable organizations she supported through her many book donations. Any high school senior, undergraduate, or trade school student in West Virginia may apply for this scholarship. Rizing Tide Crest Scholarship

Rizing Tide will annually award the Crest scholarship to 20 students who are pursuing a physical therapy degree—and who come from an underrepresented racial and/or ethnic background. Applicants must be entering their first or second year of PT school or they must be a PTA entering a PTA-to-DPT bridge program.

Ten of the Crest scholarships award up to $14,000, and 10 of the Crest scholarships (known as the runners-up Rizing Star scholarships) award up to $5,000. The Crest scholarship and the Rizing Star scholarship both may be renewed each year the scholar is still attending DPT school (up to two renewals). Funds may be used to cover any school expenses (e.g., tuition, room and board, books, or fees) and will be paid directly to the school’s financial institution.

In memory of Katie Moore, the scholarship gives preference for students planning to specialize in pediatric nursing and those applicants with experience working with ill children and their families. This scholarship is available to Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, or Grant County high school graduates who have completed the first two years of college towards a Bachelor's degree in nursing or are enrolled in an RN-to-BSN program.

Eligibility:

- Graduated from a high school in Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan or Grant County
- Has completed the first 2 years of college toward a BS degree in nursing with a minimum 3.5 GPA OR enrolled in an RN to BSN bridge program at an accredited college or university in the United States
