John Carew, former head of the Department of Horticulture at Michigan State University, dedicated his career to encouraging and guiding young horticulturists. He was instrumental in establishing BPI in 1969. The Carew scholarship is open to graduate students in horticulture with an interest in greenhouse crops.

Financial need required. Dwight Filley Davis began playing tennis at the age of 15 in 1894. In 1900, the year he graduated from college, Mr. Davis purchased a 217-troy ounce silver bowl as a prize for an international lawn tennis competition. This was the birth of the Davis Cup. Mr. Davis became president of the U.S. Lawn Tennis Association in 1923. This scholarship was created by the late Dwight F. Davis, III, grandson of Dwight Filley Davis, and is now generously supported by the Davis family. It is their wish that the recipients maintain contact with them.

The Rathmell scholarship is awarded to junior or senior level undergraduates or graduate students who have a specific plan for horticulture work/study outside of the U.S.

The Tomasovic scholarship offers special consideration for sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate students with financial need and grade point average between 3.0 and 3.5.

Their scholarship fund aims to help young married students who are working to put themselves through college and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Depending on the availability of married applicants, the scholarship may also go to an undergraduate working his or her way through school with financial need and family obligations. The keys are strong interest in horticulture and financial need.

Financial need required. This scholarship is named in honor of the late Rosalind Palmer Walter, who was responsible for funding the first USTA Foundation scholarship in 1994, well before a comprehensive program was put in place. Mrs. Walter’s commitment to tennis and education didn’t stop with her service to the USTA Foundation Board. She served on the Board of the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Long Island University, and was a Trustee of WNET Channel Thirteen and The Paley Center for Media. During World War II, Mrs. Walter was a riveter, where she worked the night shift on a Corsair, building the F4U marine gull-winged fighter airplane and is the inspiration for the 1942 song "Rosie the Riveter." She took tremendous pride knowing that the hard work, dedication and precision she put into her job helped save lives.

Ball Horticultural Company is a leading international breeder, producer and wholesale distributor of floriculture products. Ball brings the beginnings of color, foliage, fruit and form to professional growers around the world for the retail and landscape markets. The Ball Horticultural Company Scholarship is intended for junior or senior students pursuing a career in commercial floriculture.

Established by Dr. C. Anne Whealy, this scholarship honors her parents and their commitment to continued education and community service, and ensures future generations are able to achieve their academic goals. It supports Horticulture graduate students who have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a research focus on reducing the effects of changing climates on floriculture crops. This scholarship aims to support students doing work in this critical and impactful field. Suggested fields of study for this scholarship are, but are not limited to: crop production strategies, plant breeding and selection which may include molecular transformation, plant physiology, post-production & growing structure modifications or innovation.

This scholarship is named in memory of Eve Kraft of Princeton, N.J., a tennis pioneer who introduced thousands of young people to the game of tennis, particularly in disadvantaged communities. Ms. Kraft became the first-ever women’s varsity tennis coach at Princeton in 1971 and led the team to an undefeated record during her three-year tenure. She later founded and was director of the USTA Center for Education and Recreational Tennis in Princeton.

The seed companies Ball, Pan-American, Goldsmith and Syngenta are leaders in the seed production and breeding industry, providing new, improved varieties. These seed companies cooperatively sponsor this scholarship. The Seed companies scholarship requires students to have a career goal within the seed industry and be junior or senior level undergraduates or graduate students.

The Vocational (Bettinger, Holden & Perry) scholarship requires students to be in a one or two-year program with the intent to become a grower or greenhouse manager.

His floral industry knowledge, comedic storytelling and audience rapport made him a favorite. Jim served as OFA president from 1989 to 1991. The Bridenbaugh scholarship is for sophomore, junior or senior students who are pursuing a career in floral design and marketing of fresh flowers and plants.

The BioWorks IPM/Sustainable Practices Scholarship is intended for sophomore, junior or senior students pursuing a career in floriculture. Students will be selected on the basis of sound academic performance and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. While not mandatory, it is strongly desired that the student be interested in furthering the use of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) or sustainable practices, and preference will be given in this area.

Barbara Carlson, along with her husband Will, was instrumental in the establishment of Bedding Plant International (BPI) trade association, which served hundreds of growers. Fran Johnson enjoyed a long, productive career with the John Henry Co., a horticultural printing firm in Lansing, Mich. Fran also made many significant and practical contributions of time and talent through BPI to advance the greenhouse industry. The Carlson-Johnson Scholarship for Nontraditional Students is awarded to students re-entering school after a minimum three-year absence who have an interest in bedding and/or floral crops.

The Earl Dedman Scholarship is awarded to junior or senior students maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA who are interested in becoming greenhouse growers.

Novo Nordisk, a global healthcare company that’s been making innovative medicines to help people with diabetes for nearly a century, has been the title sponsor of the award since 2002. The scholarship is also supported by Dexcom, Cecelia Health, and Tandem Diabetes Care, Inc. These scholarships will be awarded to students affected by diabetes who are entering a four-year college or university program, intended to support the student’s cost of tuition, educational materials, and other related expenses at the college or university the student selects. These scholarships will be paid directly to the college or university in which the student is enrolled.

Financial need required. The general college scholarship fund was renamed The Donald Lawson Tisdel College Scholarship Fund in late 2017, after the passing of USTA Foundation Board member Don Tisdel. Mr. Tisdel believed that tennis provides opportunity in life. A top player in college, the US Air Force, and for 65 years in the Pacific Northwest and nationally, he possessed a passion for the game and cared deeply about giving back to strengthen his beloved sport.

The Ferriss Horticulture Scholarship will be awarded annually to an undergraduate student entering their junior or senior year who is majoring in horticulture or plant sciences, with a career interest in herbaceous ornamental plants and floriculture industry. Preference will be given to students who have a demonstrated interest in commercial greenhouse production of herbaceous ornamental or floriculture crops (i.e., non-edible, non-medicinal crops), research related to the production, physiology, or breeding of herbaceous ornamental and floriculture crops, and/or the sales and marketing of herbaceous ornamental and floriculture crops. The applicant should have a cumulative GPA of 2.6 or greater, and they must be a legal US or Canadian resident. The number of recipients will vary.

Financial need required. This scholarship was named in memory of Dwight A. Mosley, the first African American elected to the USTA Board of Directors. The Dwight Mosley Scholarship is available to high school seniors of ethnically diverse heritage who have excelled academically and participated extensively in an organized community tennis program. Applicants must demonstrate sportsmanship on and off the court.

Suntory Flowers Scholarship is intended for junior or senior undergraduates attending a 2 or 4-year institution, with a focus on a career in floriculture or ornamental horticulture breeding or production, with a passion for exploration in developing new and innovative floral products.

Open to high school juniors & seniors living and enrolled in schools in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York, or New Jersey Addiction can impact people from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, sex, gender, or socioeconomic status. As part of our mission to end the stigma surrounding addiction and help those impacted by substance abuse lead happier, more fulfilling lives, we are offering the Mountainside Brighter Future College Scholarship. With this scholarship, we aim to help students pursue their dreams and passions. We know a brighter future starts with today’s youth and want to enable young people to overcome their struggles. Through a personal essay, applicants will share how their addiction or their loved one’s addiction has affected their life, raising awareness and highlighting the reality of this disease.

The New England Statistical Society Scholarships for Underrepresented Minorities will advance the representation of underrepresented groups in statistics and data science by supporting graduating high school seniors and first/second-year undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in a data science-related field (e.g., statistics, quantitative fields in social science, math, engineering, and computer science). Eligibility: - Graduating high school senior or first/second-year undergraduate student - Will be enrolled in a U.S. college or university for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. - Shows a genuine interest in statistics and data science through coursework, extracurricular activities, and/or future goals.

Scholarships of $3,000 will be awarded to full-time students enrolled in at least their second semester and at least two semester-equivalent courses, currently pursuing a graduate degree at any accredited academic institution in the United States and living in the United States in an eligible major that supports the mission of AFCEA Educational Foundation. The Shrader Graduate Scholarship is established to encourage students who lack the financial means to be able to further their education in the fields listed below. The expected graduation date cannot be in the year the scholarship is awarded.

The Centennial Education Scholarship was created to support Oregon nursing students in prelicensure nursing programs (BSN, ADN), and for RN students enrolled in a program leading to a BSN in an accredited Oregon School of nursing. The scholarship award is for costs of completing a prelicensure or BSN program. It includes tuition, fees and other expenses directly related to participating in the prelicensure nursing program. - Active enrollment (currently taking core curriculum courses) in an Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) approved nursing program in Oregon. The Raymond Meyer Flight Fund Scholarship (RMMS) is an annual scholarship. First, to remember Raymond Meyer as an Oregon aviator with a passion for flying and for sharing that passion with others. Second, to continue to promote aviation, just as Raymond did during his lifetime, by making the opportunity of learning to fly, or advancing flying, by providing financial assistance. Eligibility Criteria: - Be a resident of Oregon. - be a member of Oregon Pilots Association (Student pilot membership is free). - Be at least 16 years old. - Have successfully soloed in a single or multi engine land airplane, or rotorcraft. - Have passed the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test (before funds will be released). - Have completed High School graduation (or GED) if not currently enrolled. - Have a minimum 2.5 GPA if enrolled in/graduated high school, college or flight school.

The mission of the Renaissance Scholars Program (RSP) is to provide scholarships to high achieving, low-income students who will be the first in their family to earn a bachelor’s degree. - Must be a high school senior in Oregon or Illinois, or a recent graduate. - Or a current freshman or sophomore college student at a 4-year school in Oregon or Illinois OR - A current community college student in Oregon or Illinois, planning to transfer to any 4-year school OR - A current freshman or sophomore college student at one of our three partner HBCUs, or planning to transfer to one. U.S. citizenship is not a requirement (see FAQ section for more). - Plan to earn a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. 4-year college. - Will be the very first person in your family to earn a bachelor's degree. Students who have a parent or sibling with a bachelor’s degree, or a sibling currently enrolled in a 4-year college are not eligible. (see FAQ section for more). Have significant demonstrated financial need. Renaissance defines this as Pell eligibility or equivalent for those who do not file the FAFSA. Ms. Kiene’s career serves as an inspiration to women who pursue careers in the industry. During her long, diversified career, she taught home economics, served as Home Editor of Capper's Farmer and retired from the Westinghouse Corporation. Ms. Kiene was a president of the organization and served on the Board of Directors for WiNUP’s parent organization, The Electrical Women's Round Table, Inc., for many years. - The applicant must be accepted to a regionally or nationally accredited university. - Both WiNUP Members and non-members are eligible to apply for the scholarships. - Applicants must submit an online application before 11:59PM PT on May 1 of each year to be eligible. Ms. Mamer was an electric industry pioneer who worked for many years with the Rural Electrification Administration educating rural Americans about the uses of electricity. She was the first woman to be awarded the Clyde T. Ellis Award in recognition of her service and accomplishments on behalf of electrical cooperatives. Ms. Mamer joined WiNUP (EWRT) in 1948 and remained a member until her death in 2006. Her generous $20,000 contribution to WiNUP enables the organization to fund the annual scholarship in her name.

This scholarship seeks to empower single mothers pursuing higher education, mirroring Maria's own journey as an immigrant from Mexico who courageously raised four children as a housekeeper following the loss of her husband. Although Maria did not have the opportunity to pursue higher education herself, she passionately advocated for the transformative power of learning and the pursuit of academic excellence.

The nominee must be a registered female graduate student in an accredited academic institution at the time when the applications are due. Applicants are normally expected not to graduate before the award selection. The award may be given to a particular individual only once. Following the Awards Committee Meeting in the Spring/Summer, the top eight (8) student nominees are notified and invited to present talks on their research to the Awards Committee in a virtual interview in late summer. After the interview, one of the top three (3) students of the eight (8) finalists will receive the Whetten Award. The finalists not selected will receive either the Hoffman Award, Varian Award, or Dorothy M or Earl S. Hoffman Scholarships. Criteria for selection of the awardee are excellence in research and academic record.

The Knights of Columbus awards annually the Bishop Charles P. Greco Graduate Fellowships for full time graduate study leading to a Master's degree in a program designed for the preparation of classroom teachers of people with intellectual disabilities. To be eligible, an applicant must be a member in good standing of the Knights of Columbus or the wife, son or daughter of such a member or deceased member. The Virginia Military Survivors and Dependents Education Program (VMSDEP) offers valuable education benefits to the spouses and children of qualifying veterans and service members. These benefits support survivors and dependents whose loved ones have been severely disabled or lost due to military service. The program is administered by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services in partnership with the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia and public colleges and universities across the state. Eligible students can receive tuition waivers and stipends for up to four academic years.

The CURE – Cancer Support Scholarship was created by the Lep Foundation for Youth Education for students diagnosed with cancer (a public charity providing financial assistance to survivors of childhood & adolescent cancers seeking to further their education). Eligibility The scholarship is designated for students who were diagnosed with cancer and whose disease and related treatments placed a significant financial burden on them and their families

Storytelling is a powerful tool to help bring light to Alzheimer's disease and dementia. HFC's Humans of Dementia Storytelling Scholarship is open to high school and college students in the U.S. and Canada who have been impacted in some way by Alzheimer's disease. This scholarship focuses on storytelling as a tool to drive awareness and inspire change about Alzheimer's disease. By focusing on the person and not the disease, Humans of Dementia aims to bring light to and elevate the conversation around Alzheimer's disease so we can reduce the stigma and shame often surrounding loved ones living with the disease. HFC awards 12 scholarships: 6 for high school students and 6 for college students. Awards for the written profile and photo essay categories include three cash awards of $1500 each, along with a VIP Virtual Awards Reception. The All-Star Scholarship is open to children adopted at or after the age of 13 (or who have exited foster care to permanent guardianship) to provide increased opportunities for advanced education. The Eastern Orthodox Committee on Scouting offers two $1000 college scholarships each year to young men and women who have completed the highest award of their Scouting organization as well as the Alpha Omega religious award of the EOCS. Open to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, four scholarships will be available in the amount of $7,500 USD.

The Operation Second Chance Scholarship is offered to unmarried, dependent children of deceased, wounded, injured, or ill veterans in their senior year of high school. The dependent child must be seeking an advanced degree from an accredited college or a certification from an accredited vocational or technical institution. The sponsoring veteran is required to have a VA disability combat related rating of 70% or higher or deceased from injuries related to combat deployment.

Scholarships are awarded competitively based upon pursuit of a degreed major focusing on exhibition and/or event management. If within a hospitality program, the focus of study should be the exhibitions and events industry as determined by the review of the submitted official transcripts.

This scholarship is available to graduate or undergraduate students enrolled in a degree-granting higher education program, showcasing an interest in pursuing project management as a potential career. The LANGUAGECERT International Student Scholarship in partnership with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) awards 5 selected international students with a $5,000 scholarship to study at one of the HACU-member institutions in the United States. As an international student, you can apply to a selection of around 500 world-class US higher education institutions and be eligible for a scholarship. Scholarship-specific criteria: Intend to enroll in the Fall 2025 semester at a 2-year or 4-year HACU-member institution in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. Open to ALL Majors. Open to International-Freshman Undergraduate students. Must be enrolled Full-time. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Additional Criteria: Applicants must submit proof of English language proficiency to the HACU member school through their LanguageCert Academic or LanguageCert iESOL English test. Applicants can submit a copy of this test on their scholarship dashboard.

The Ramblers Scholarship supports student athletes pursuing an undergraduate education who self-identify publicly as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex (LGBTQI), or as demonstrated and committed straight allies. Awardees will receive a one-time scholarship, paid directly to their school to cover tuition fees. Up to two scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded publicly each summer. The application process is open annually from January 1 – May 1. An eligible applicant is: An athlete (all sports and athletic activities qualify); An open and self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex person; or a demonstrated and committed ally; A graduating high school student who plans to attend a recognized undergraduate college or university in the United States OR is an already matriculated US undergraduate college student; and Between the age of 15- and 22-years-old (depending on age at time of high school graduation)

The Paradigm Challenge is an ongoing competition that invites students aged 4 to 18 around the world to use kindness, creativity, and collaboration to help solve real-life problems and make a difference.

In 2025, Lely will award four, one-time/non-renewable $500 high-school scholarships, and two one-time/non-renewable $1,500 college scholarships to deserving, qualified students who are legal residents of the United States or Canada. Students must be enrolled at an accredited institution of higher education for the 2025-2026 academic year and participating in a program that can equip them to contribute to the dairy industry. 1) Dairy Technology - This scholarship is open to students pursuing degrees in robotics, automation, and/or precision ag that have a passion and desire to work in the dairy industry. The student must have at least freshman college status at the time of application. 2) Dairy Industry - This scholarship is open to students pursuing an agriculture degree with a desire to work in the dairy industry. The student must have at least freshman college-status at time of application.

The PMI Educational Foundation is proud to offer four additional scholarships to support students pursuing education in project management and related fields this year. These scholarships provide financial assistance to help students advance their careers and develop essential project management skills. The GAC scholarship aims to provide crucial support to students engaged in the study of project management. Its primary objective is to empower students to apply project/program/portfolio management methodologies in addressing current and future organizational needs, thereby enhancing awareness of project management principles and contributing to organizational success. These GAC scholarships are inclusive, available to all students enrolled in GAC-accredited academic degree programs in project/program/portfolio management or related fields. This scholarship aims to honor the memory of Andrew Schultze by supporting students who share his passion for the HVAC trade. Any mechanically inclined high school student from New York or New Jersey may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they have at least a 2.0 GPA and if they will apply to an HVAC trade school or a college that has an HVAC program. To apply, tell us about your interest in the HVAC field, what obstacles you have overcome, and what a boss would say about your performance. Additionally, upload a recommendation from your teacher. The AFCEA Educational Foundation is offering competitive based scholarships of $2,500 each to students actively pursuing a graduate degree or credential/licensure for the purpose of teaching science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) subjects at a U.S. school in grades K-12.  To be eligible, students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Graduate candidates must be attending an accredited U.S. college or university (online students are eligible) and majoring in education for the purpose of teaching STEM subjects in a U.S. school in grades K-12. Graduate-level candidates must be currently taking at least two semester-equivalent classes at an accredited U.S. college or university at the time of application. Current credential and licensure students must have completed a bachelor’s of science degree or graduate degree in a STEM major.  Applicants must also have at least a 3.5 GPA.

The Washington Thoroughbred Foundation Scholarship is available to a student attending a college or university in Washington state, pursuing a career in pre-veterinary medicine (equine emphasis) equine science, racetrack management, equine business or pasture management and equine marketing and/or communications as it pertains to racetracks, horse farms, and other related fields.

In the interest of supporting and promoting professions in Materials Science and in particular metallurgy, this scholarship is designed to assist students with any educationally related expenses. Eligibility: This scholarship will be made available to students who: - Currently enrolled in Materials Science classes during junior or senior year - GPA of 2.0 or higher - Plan to attend a vocational-technical, junior college, or college in the fall The amount of the award will be $1,000 and possibly more as funds are made available. Funds will be disbursed in semester or quarter increments as determined by the institution the student chooses to attend and will be mailed directly to the institution. The Olympia Master Builders (OMB) Education Foundation is accepting applications for scholarship grants ranging up to $2500 to college or vocational/technical school-bound students, who currently reside within Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Pacific or Grays Harbor Counties. This scholarship has been established from the generous memorial donations of friends and family as a way to honor Kyle’s legacy by encouraging and assisting others who share this passion and desire for a career in aviation. Any high school senior who has been accepted to an aviation college or current aviation college student who is pursuing a flying career and is involved in their community is encouraged to apply.

The Single Parent Scholarship by Organic Formula Shop is a student scholarship designed to support a single mother or a father. With this Scholarship, they hope to give college students a chance to earn cash towards their education. Each winner will be awarded with $2000 each to cover a part of their costs as they pursue their degrees. To apply, write a 500-1,000 word essaay describing the challenges you face while being a parent and a student.

Any high school senior at Lockport Township High School in Illinois who has at least a 3.0 GPA as well as volunteering experience and/or work experience may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they’re taking at least one AP class. To apply, write a 400-600 word essay explaining what colleges you’re applying to and hoping to attend, what AP class(es) you’re taking, your favorite class, and the impacts you’ve experienced from taking rigorous courses.
